The Winery
The winery Le Rocche, situated on top of San Luigi, offers a magnificent view over the gentle hills of Dogliani and the Langhe.
Still now, 30 years later, we are fascinated by the magic experience to see a wine growing! There’s always new horizons opening up to apply to vine cultivation and vinification!
LeRocche includes sixty acres of land, thereof almost eighteen acres of vineyards.
About Us
In the spring of 1993, Marcello and Ursula’s dream became a reality. They found their new home.
Marcello is an engineer HTL in oenology. Ursula is an agronomist. As highly qualified winegrowers, we believe that successful winegrowing is the art of balancing technical skills with devotion, discipline and passion.
And we live and learn! And Mother Nature is our best teacher.
We observe her, while integrating new and traditional methods, sharing knowledge with others, gaining new experiences, and expanding our horizons in general. With playful curiosity, we are constantly discovering new things.
We let ourselves be inspired by nature, which is eternally in movement, fostering regeneration and evolution of life.
Our Philosophy
Motivated by the desire to farm in harmony with nature rather than against it, we do not use synthetic pesticides, applying the organic method and agrihomoeopathy.
Organic farming typically allows the use of naturally occurring substances while prohibiting synthetic substances such as artificial chemical fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides and herbicides.
To avoid dryness as well as to help shelter and fertilize the soil of our vineyards, we apply an organic technique by trimming the green between the vines. These plants serve also as nutrition for beneficial insects and ourselves. In such a manner, we respect the balance of nature.
And nature is grateful. Our yearly produce is at least 30,000 bottles of wine.
